- A state may be holding your money
One in seven Americans has unclaimed money held by a state: old cheques, deposits, refunds. The official search is free and takes about 90 seconds.
Search unclaimed.org (free) Run by the state unclaimed property administrators (NAUPA). - Your airline owes you cash, not a voucher
Since October 2024 a cancelled or significantly changed US flight must be refunded automatically to your card within seven business days, if you did not take the new flight.

Under Regulation E, your bank must investigate an unauthorised electronic transfer you report within 60 days of the statement. If the bank stalls, the CFPB complaint form gets a response.
